On a very shaky train back from Scotland last Thursday. Half way between Glasgow and Lockerbie in the Lowther Hills near Moffat, I looked at the scene, closed my eyes to fix it, opened my iPad (and eyes) and painted this in my Auryn Ink app.
There were only 4 types of scenery in the 3 hour flight over Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois and Indiana before we hit clouds at Fort Wayne (which I identified from my photo and a satellite image on Google maps). In an hour we were at Philly Airport.
Red rock slabs 300 ft high - awesome. Quick sketch on my iPad followed by a slightly slower one with pen and watercolour. I'd been looking forward to doing this one since our daughter moved to the Springs 2 years ago.
